Shelter Pavilion is an immersive and poetic sculptural installation that questions the concepts of shelter, transition, and permanence on the waters of the Svartån River. Conceived as a temporary dwelling, the structure is assembled entirely from locally salvaged materials—doors, windows, and reclaimed wood—to prompt a poignant reflection on human vulnerability, immigration, and the profound meaning of "home."

Inside this floating, fragmented architecture, the layered interplay of old windows redraws Örebro’s aquatic and urban landscape, slicing it into a multitude of living tableaux that move to the rhythm of the current. At the heart of this waterfront structure, the open space looks out over the river's reflections, offering no destination other than contemplation and introspection. Through this shift in perspective, the public setting of the biennial is metamorphosed into an intimate experience. The familiar tips into the unknown, and the very strangeness of this nomadic structure becomes, for the duration of a still journey, a space of refuge, reconnection, and universal dialogue.
